This three day course provides an introduction to software quality assurance principles and techniques, from test team development to metrics collections and analysis. Attendees will learn efficient methods of identifying and designing test cases to detect defects. Test planning and management, test execution, defect reporting, and quality assurance 'best practices' will also be discussed. In addition, the various tools that are available to assist in the testing process will be identified. Attendees will be introduced to a leading automated testing tool, "WinRunner" by Mercury Interactive and use the tool in Hands-on Labs.

David M. Fellows, Ph.D.
Recently retired after twenty-nine years teaching Computer Science at UNB, Dr.
Fellows provides consulting services related to management of the software development
process. Dr. Fellows received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University
of Waterloo in 1970 and is currently President of Fellows and Carr, Inc. He
has taught undergraduate courses on programming, software engineering, simulation,
operating system internals and other topics. At the graduate level he has taught
courses on computer system performance modelling, operating system design, and
distributed computing systems. Dr. Fellows has proficiency in over a dozen programming
languages as well as experience as a Unix system administrator. Dr. Fellows
is a certified Information Systems Professional.
Keith McIntosh
Mr. McIntosh is President of Professional Quality Assurance Ltd. (PQA Ltd.),
an Information Technology company specialising in software testing solutions.
Mr. McIntosh is a dedicated software testing professional, having accumulated
over ten years of experience in all aspects of software quality assurance. He
is currently Quality Assurance Manager at Atlantic Systems Group Inc.
