Workshop Program



AWoSS 2015, the 6th Atlantic Workshop on Semantics and Services invites researchers and practitioners of semantic web and service technologies to submit abstracts for presentations and participate in the workshop.


Workshop Objectives

·       AWoSS aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, industry and students in the Atlantic Provinces (and beyond) to present, discuss and explore their current research works in the areas of semantic web and services.

·       AWoSS provides an excellent platform to demonstrate semantic web and services applications/prototypes.

·       AWoSS particularly encourages students to present their research work so that they can get feedback from the larger semantic web and services community.

·       AWoSS aims to foster an Atlantic community of semantic web and services scholars and practitioners, with the aim to establish research collaborations between AWoSS participants.


Workshop Scope

    AWoSS invites the submission of 1-page abstract that describes research works in the area of semantic web and services. The research work will be presented as oral presentation (20 – 30 mins). The workshop will feature research and development covering semantic web and services topics, including but not limited to, the following:

·       Semantic Web technologies

·       Ontologies—Engineering, Management, Mapping, Evolution

·       Reasoning

·       Semantic data management

·       Rules and Rule-based Systems

·       Semantic web applications

·       Service Computing

·       Web Services and Semantic Web Services


During the workshop participants will present and discuss their work. The discussion sessions will provide an avenue to exchange ideas and establish collaborations.
