Research Activities |
Dana Wasson has research interests in pattern recognition and computer
vision applications. In particular he is interested in hand printed character
recognition and 3-D computer vision. He also has research interests in
computer assisted logic design, and in particular the use of programmable
logic devices (PLD's) in logic design.
Professional Activities |
Dr. Wasson is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Computer Society, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Pattern Recognition Society, the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), and of the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of New Brunswick (APENB). He has been Atlantic area Director of CIPS and a member of its Accreditation Council, and is currently a member of its Certification Council. He has served on the Task Group on the Software Industry for the Province of N.B. and is currently a member of the Executive Advisory Committee for the IBM Canada Laboratory.
