3G cellular/WLAN interworking:
To provide mobile users with seamless Internet access anywhere and anytime,
there is a strong demand for interworking mechanisms between cellular networks
and wireless local area networks in the next-generation all-IP wireless networks.
In this project, we developed efficient and effective call admission control schemes
and vertical handoff decision policies in cellular/WLAN interworking.
Also, access selection and load sharing problems are investigated for
cellular/WLAN integrated overlay network to enhance multi-service provisioning.
We Performed rigid theoretical analysis and developed simulation software
using C/C++ and MATLAB to evaluate performance of proposed resource allocation schemes. |

Web-based services for enterprise portal and digital library:
In this project, we designed and developed a management information system (MIS)
and enterprise portal for China National Publication Import and Export Co., Ltd.,
with PowerBuilder and active server pages (ASP) script,
involving Microsoft Internet Information Server (MS IIS) and Sybase database server.
Further, we collaborated with China National Library in Experimental Digital Library Project,
developing distributed three-tier applications, which consisted of Sybase database server,
MS IIS Web server with PowerDynamo application server extension,
and Sybase Jaguar Component Transaction Server. |
