UNB Team History

2006 Northeast North America Regional (Rochester, New York)
We performed well in this competition and were in it til the end. For a while we were placed in the top 4 and then some of the other teams solved one more problem to jump ahead. We eventually placed 7th with 2 problems solved. MIT placed first with 7 problems solved and Harvard was second with 4 problems solved. Team members are Tom Robichaud (Captain), Nicholas Doyle, and Scott Strang. The coachs are Nathan Scott and Dr. Ken Kent.

2006 APICS Conference (Cape Breton University)
We rebounded from the performance last year and solved 5 problems. This was good enough to give us third place overall behind Acadia and St. Mary's. All 3 teams solved 5 problems with the tie-breaker of time required to solve the problems. All 3 teams advance to the Regionals! Team members are Tom Robichaud (Captain), Nicholas Doyle, and Scott Strang. The coachs are Nathan Scott and Dr. Ken Kent.

2005 APICS Conference (Acadia University)
We placed a disappointing 13th in this competition. We expected to do better, but we had some difficulty with our second problem and never recovered. Team members are Tom Robichaud (Captain), Nicholas Doyle, and Jonathan Ball. The coachs are Nathan Scott and Dr. Ken Kent.

2005 ACM International Competition - World Finals (Shanghai, China)
We were very happy to have the opportunity to compete again at the World Finals - only Atlantic team to have made it to this level twice! We were up against tough competition and received Honourable Mention for our efforts. Team members are Sean Falconer (Captain), Nathan Scott, and Aaron Small. The coach is Dr. Ken Kent.

2004 Northeast North America Regional (Rochester, New York)
We placed second to MIT, beating out Harvard. Both MIT and us solved 4 problems, but MIT did it in slightly less time. We were leading for about an hour, then MIT jumped back into the lead in the final hour. Harvard jumped into second, ahead of us, for a short period of time until we solved our third and then fourth problem. Team members are Sean Falconer (Captain), Nathan Scott, and Aaron Small. The coach is Dr. Ken Kent.

2004 APICS Conference (UNB Saint John)
UNB Reds won the competition by solving 5 of the 6 problems in less than 4 hours. Saint Mary's finished second by solving 2 problems. The UNB Blacks (Tom Robichaud (Captain), Jordan Bramble, and Nick Doyle) finished 4th. I think this was the first time two UNB teams finished in the top 5. UNB Reds will compete in Rochester on November 13th, 2004 in the Northeast North America Regional. UNB Reds team members are Sean Falconer (Captain), Nathan Scott, and Aaron Small. The coach is Dr. Ken Kent. Check out the problem set, sample I/O, and scoreboard as of the 4 hour marker here.
